■コメント："Japanese gifts and presents are always very well presented and I think that this is because they think appearance is very important. In western societies, gift-wrapping is not such an art as it is in Japan. If you want a gift beautifully wrapped in Australia you would have to do it yourself. Although the gifts are beautifully presented, I think that it is such a waste of paper and harms the environment."

■コメント："There is a saying in Australia that it's the 'thought that counts'. So sometimes when someone just sends a card or an unwrapped present, we are happy that they took the time to think of us. The actual present or how it is wrapped isn't important. Japanese people definitely put more time and effort into wrapping presents than Aussies. We still like to present things nicely but we are becoming more concerned about the environment nowadays."
